What Are the Costs Associated with a Disney Cruise?
Cruise fares, onboard accommodations, meals, entertainment, and activities are all included in the Disney cruise fare but there are a few expenses that are not covered, however. Airfare and travel to your port of embarkation and debarkation are usually not covered. Hotel stays before and after your cruise are also not covered. There are some occasions when local transportation can be arranged to and from the airport or a local hotel. To find out, speak with a Disney Cruise Lines representative ahead of time to make those arrangements. You will want to make allowances for extra expenses that you will be responsible for such as gratuities, taxes, and trip insurance as well as extra activities on the cruise and on shore. Those extra activities include but may not be limited to on-shore excursions, alcohol, laundry, telephone calls, and beauty and spa services. If you are traveling with children, you may also want to consider the cost of childcare if you and your spouse would like to have a quiet evening out. These are all going to be added expenses, so be prepared.

Booking your cruise early could save your money. Visit Disney Cruise Lines to check on their special offers. To assure that you get the cruise you want to take and the space you need, you should plan to book the cruise at least twelve months in advance. If you are planning to take a holiday cruise, such as the Halloween Cruise or Christmas Holiday Cruise you may need to book sooner. Many cruises fill up quickly so keep that in mind. Also, keep in mind when booking your cruise, you will be required to make a partial payment or put down a deposit to hold your reservation. What Activities Are Available on a Disney Cruise?
There are many activities on a Disney Cruise. There is plenty to keep the whole family involved and busy. There are recreational activities such as Goofy’s Sports Deck for the kids with basketball, table tennis, and a 9-hole mini-golf course. There are shuffleboard, basketball and the fitness center for the adults. There are spa and salon services as well as pools and waterslides. Extra activities include character experiences, live shows, and deck parties. There are youth clubs for the children, nightclubs, and lounges for the adults and a whole venue just for families.
The dining experience is something my family has grown to love over the years at Disney World and Disney Land. The Disney Cruise Line is no exception. They offer the finest meals on the high seas with main dining areas with three restaurants to choose from, casual dining with several to choose from and exclusive adult dining. Disney dining, wherever you are is one of exceptional service, quality, and gourmet meals.
What Do You Need to Bring with You on a Cruise?
Depending on what type of cruise you are taking you will need to pack appropriately. If traveling during the summer or taking a tropical type cruise to the Bahamas or the Caribbean you want to pack lightweight clothes, a light jacket, your swimming suit with sunscreen, sunglasses or a visor and sandals. If you are taking a northern or winter cruise, pack warmer clothing, raingear, a sweater or jacket, tennis shoes, and socks. It will be a little cooler than a tropical cruise. If you are traveling with small children, you will want to bring your own stroller. Bring comfortable shoes for onshore activities.
If you are planning to dine at one of the exclusive dining venues for adults bring a nice set of clothing as those restaurants are more formal. And if you decide to take a holiday cruise or themed cruise such as Halloween you may want to include a costume.
You will also need to make sure to bring your citizenship paperwork. You will need your passport. Make sure to have the correct passport. To find out which passport you need, you should check with your local postal service to fill out the correct application and have your picture taken. The postal service will charge a fee for the picture and to process the application to be mailed in to receive your passport. Make sure to allow plenty of time to file your passport application so that you have it in hand well before your cruise.
Once you are on your Disney Cruise the only thing you and your family will need to do is have fun and relax!
